Directions to Annedd Lon, 157 Cathedral Rd, Pontcanna, Cardiff CF11 9PL Tel (029) 2022 3349 By road: From the east, use the M4 to junction 29; turn off on to A48(M) towards “Cardiff Central” (there is no other turning) and follow until “City Centre” or “Cardiff Castle” indicate a left filter onto A470. Taking this, proceed for about two miles until Cardiff Castle's crenelated walls appear on your right. Taking a right turn around the Castle, Cathedral Road is the next right, over the river bridge. No. 157 is on the left, just after the fourth road off to the left. If city centre roads are closed for a big game, do not turn off as above, but continue straight ahead on A48 under the flyover on to Western Avenue and take the second turning left (the first left leads to Tesco, which you will see.) At the traffic lights, go left. At the next junction traffic lights, go left again. You will be in Penhill Road, which becomes Cathedral Road as soon as it reaches a small shopping centre on your right. No. 157 is towards the end of the houses in the block on your right after the next pedestrian crossing lights. From the north, it is usually best to use A470 all the way to Cardiff Castle, then follow the first paragraph above; or turn on to Western Avenue (A48, to the right under the flyover), then follow the second paragraph above. From the west, if using the M4, exit at junction 33 towards “Cardiff West”. Normally, exit the second road junction left on to Leckwith Road, go straight ahead through the first two traffic lights and right at the third on to Wellington Street. Go straight at the next lights on to Cowbridge Road East, then left at the next lights into Cathedral Road. No. 157 is on the left, just after the fourth road off to the left. By Rail: From Cardiff Central station it is best to take a taxi or bus. The bus station adjoins the rail station, and buses 25, 32, and 62 stop almost outside Annedd Lon (ask for Berthwin Street on Cathedral Road. The fare is £1.20 single, though “day rover” (£3) and family tickets are available. Buses do not give change.) Taxis run mostly from the other side of the rail station, at a fare of £3 - £4. By Air: Buses run from Cardiff Airport to Cardiff bus station. There is also a (slow) train from nearby Rhoose Station, served by a shuttle bus from the airport.
